Islamabad: Authorities have decided to block cellular networks in federal capital and its twin city Rawalpindi amid sectarian violence that erupted during Ashura procession.
According to latest updates, the cellular networks in Islamabad will remain blocked from 1 am tonight until 2 pm tomorrow. However, Rawalpindi’s residents would face unannounced ban on mobile networks.
Earlier today, authorities have lifted a 13 hours long curfew in Rawalpindi from 9:30 pm until 1 am.
